Accessibility Policy

Our Commitment

Vohrel is committed to providing a digital experience that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. Accessibility is not a feature we add after the fact—it is a design principle embedded in how we build and maintain our Platform.

We are guided by three principles:

• Inclusive by Default. We design with accessibility in mind from the start, not as an afterthought.
• Continuous Improvement. Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly audit, test, and improve our Platform.
• Open Feedback. We welcome and act on accessibility feedback from our users.

Standards We Follow

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines provide a shared standard for web accessibility that meets the needs of individuals, organizations, and governments internationally.

While WCAG 2.1 Level AA is our target standard, we recognize that full conformance is an ongoing process. We are transparent about our current status and actively work to close any gaps.

Measures We Have Taken

To support our accessibility commitment, we have implemented or are actively pursuing the following measures:

Platform Design & Development

• Semantic HTML structure to support screen readers and assistive technologies
• Keyboard-navigable interface elements, including menus, buttons, forms, and modals
• Sufficient color contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA requirements
• Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes, zoom levels, and orientations
• Descriptive alt text for meaningful images; decorative images are marked as such
• Visible focus indicators for interactive elements during keyboard navigation
• Form inputs with associated labels, error messages, and instructions
• Consistent and predictable navigation across all pages

Content & Resources

• Downloadable resources provided in accessible formats where possible (e.g., tagged PDFs)
• Text-based alternatives for visual math content where feasible
• Clear, plain language in all user-facing communications

Tutoring Sessions

• Willingness to accommodate individual accessibility needs during tutoring sessions upon request
• Flexibility in session delivery format to support students with different learning needs
• Open communication with parents and guardians about available accommodations

Known Limitations

While we strive for comprehensive accessibility, some areas of our Platform may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are transparent about these limitations and actively working to address them.

Current known limitations may include:

• Third-party embedded content (such as payment forms or scheduling widgets) that may not fully meet WCAG standards. We work with our service providers to advocate for accessibility improvements.
• Complex mathematical notation and equations, which present inherent challenges for screen readers. We are exploring solutions such as MathML and ARIA labels to improve this experience.
• Older PDF documents or resources that may not be fully tagged for accessibility. We are updating these on a rolling basis.

Assistive Technology Compatibility

Our Platform is designed to be compatible with common assistive technologies, including:

• Screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
• Screen magnification software
• Speech recognition software
• Keyboard-only navigation
• Browser zoom functionality (up to 200% without loss of content or functionality)

We test our Platform with a variety of browsers and assistive technology combinations. If you experience compatibility issues with a specific technology, please contact us so we can investigate.

Legal Framework

Our accessibility efforts are informed by the following legal and regulatory frameworks:

• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Title III of the ADA has been interpreted by the Department of Justice and federal courts to apply to websites and digital services that serve the public.
• Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. While primarily applicable to federal agencies, Section 508 standards inform best practices for web accessibility.
• WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Recognized internationally as the benchmark standard for web accessibility and referenced by the ADA, Section 508, the European Accessibility Act, and other regulatory frameworks.

We monitor evolving accessibility regulations and update our practices accordingly.

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our Platform and services. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, have a suggestion for improvement, or need assistance accessing any part of our Platform, please contact us:

When reporting an accessibility issue, it is helpful (but not required) to include:

• The page URL or screen where you encountered the issue
• A description of the barrier or difficulty you experienced
• The assistive technology and browser you are using (if applicable)
• Your preferred format for our response

We will acknowledge your feedback within 3 business days and aim to resolve reported barriers within 30 calendar days. If a resolution requires more time, we will provide you with an interim update and an estimated timeline.

Session Accommodations

If your child requires specific accommodations during tutoring sessions, please let us know at the time of booking or by contacting us at support@vohrel.com. We will work with you to identify reasonable accommodations that support an effective learning experience.

Examples of accommodations we may be able to provide include:

• Adjusted pacing or session duration
• Modified visual presentation of materials (e.g., larger text, high-contrast visuals)
• Alternative communication methods during sessions
• Supplementary written summaries of session content

We approach every accommodation request with good faith and flexibility. Our goal is to remove barriers to learning, not to create them.

Third-Party Content & Services

Our Platform may integrate with or link to third-party services (such as payment processors and scheduling tools) that are not developed or maintained by Vohrel. While we select service providers that share our commitment to accessibility, we cannot guarantee that all third-party content meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier related to a third-party service on our Platform, please contact us. We will work with the provider to seek a resolution or offer an alternative method to complete the task.

Continuous Improvement

We are committed to the ongoing improvement of our accessibility practices. Our improvement process includes:

• Periodic accessibility audits of our Platform, conducted internally and, when feasible, by independent third-party evaluators
• Incorporating accessibility testing into our development workflow for all new features and updates
• Monitoring user feedback and prioritizing reported barriers
• Staying current with updates to WCAG standards and applicable legal requirements
• Training team members on accessibility principles and best practices

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect improvements to our accessibility practices, changes in legal requirements, or user feedback. Updates will be reflected with a revised effective date at the top of this page.
